Christmas in New York City

FEEL THE HOLIDAY MAGIC IN NEW YORK CITY
December 15-18, 2018

Have you ever dreamed of seeing the sights, smelling the smells and feeling the magic of NYC during the holiday season?  You can do just that!  Mark your calendar and make your reservations now!

Our NY guide with whom I have worked two times before will determine the order of the sights we see sequentially so we will not waste time navigating city traffic. We have 4 days of touring--each day will be equally important. Among the sights you will see and visit as merited are:

Uptown Manhattan that includes places like: Central Park (larger than the state of RI,) Upper West Side, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, the Dakota where John Lennon lived, Strawberry Fields, American Museum of Natural History, Harlem, Cathedral of St. John, the Divine, Columbia University, Duke Ellington’s home, the home of Alexander Hamilton, The Cloister (part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art), Conservatory Garden, the Obelisk (Cleopatra’s Needle) Upper East Side, Millionaires Row.  There are some famous soul food restaurants in Harlem such as Sylvia’s Soul Food. Our tour guide might know  one.

Midtown Manhattan “the City that never sleeps.”  Your hotel is here--The ROW.  Other places are Bryant Park the site of NYC’s Christmas Markets (like Europe), Grand Central Station, United Nations, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, New York Public Library, the infamous 42nd Street (where we might find Santa), the Gold District (jewelry), 5th Avenue as we know it, Plaza Hotel, Trump Tower, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany’s, Bergdorf-Goodman, Museum of Modern Art, Macy’s, entrance to Central Park, Radio City Music Hall.

Downtown Manhattan that includes:  Financial District and Wall Street, Battery Park, New York Harbor, Trinity Church, St. Paul’s Chapel, Broadway, Brooklyn Bridge, World Trade Center, old tenement neighborhoods and museum where immigrants settled, Chinatown to include lunch, Little Italy, Lower East Side, SOHO, Greenwich Village, Washington Square, MacDougal Street, the Meat Packing District, Bleeker Street and maybe cross the Brooklyn Bridge and see the old colonial neighborhoods of Brooklyn, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, (from a distance).  (I am not suggesting that we take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island in December as it may be very cold.  I do know that a small group plans to brave this on their own, but something else will be planned for those who do not want to brave the cold.)
